One day when Abeland Cain were out in the field, all of a sudden Cain rose upagainst his brother Abel and killed him. Oh, what an awfulsin! The blood of Abel cried to heaven against wicked Cain.God said to Cain: Where is your brother Abel? Caintried to excuse himself. He answered God: I do not know.Am I my brothers keeper? Can not my brother take careof himself? Then God told Cain that He knew very well that Cain hadkilled Abel. Because he had done so, he would have Godagainst him. He would never be happy in this world. ThenCain left his home and his land forever. He went to a far offcountry and built a city. Such was the death of the good Abel. He was the firstmartyr to the faith in the world. Afterwards God gave Adam and Eve a son instead ofAbel. They called him Seth, for he took Abels place. LikeAbel, Seth loved his God. Gen. 4.
