English: The lid of a cast copper alloy seal box lid dating to the Roman period, c. AD 100 to 300.

The object is an elongated leaf shape in plan and belongs to Crummy's class 4. The object is separated into cells which would have held different coloured enamel although not much now remains. There is a main circular cell which is at the rounded end of the object with an smaller circular cell in the middle. This smaller cell still contains traces of red enamel. Extending outwards from the larger circle to form the point of the leaf shape is a triangular cell which again contains no enamel. There is a very small circular cell which is attached to the point of the triangle and again the enamel is missing. At the opposite end of the large circle from the triangular projection is the remains of the hinge. There is a small circular perforation which is where the hinge would have attached the lid to the box. The back of the lid is undecorated.
